There will be no end to rumors as the 2024 NFL Draft draws near regarding what teams are up to and how they plan to strengthen their rosters for the upcoming season and beyond. The Philadelphia Eagles, who own the 22nd overall pick in this year’s draft, are among those teams.
Since the start of free agency, the Eagles have been among the teams who have been more active. Their most notable addition is former New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley. They signed linebacker Devin White and defensive back CJ Gardner-Johnson to help with some of their defensive issues. With their first-round pick in particular, the Eagles now have considerable flexibility in this year’s draft.
As the 2024 NFL Draft approaches, speculation about what teams are up to and how they intend to bolster their rosters for the forthcoming season and beyond will never end. Among such teams is the Philadelphia Eagles, who have the 22nd overall pick in the current draft.
The Eagles have been one of the clubs that has been more active since the start of free agency. Saquon Barkley, a former running back for the New York Giants, is their most noteworthy addition. To deal with some of their defensive problems, they signed defensive back CJ Gardner-Johnson and linebacker Devin White. In this year’s draft, the Eagles have a lot of flexibility, especially with their first-round pick.
Now, here are two players that the Eagles should avoid in the 2024 NFL Draft:
Troy Franklin, WR, Oregon

The Eagles’ chances of selecting a receiver in the first round are little to none since by the time they select No. 22, most of the top players will probably be selected. However, they will have some good possibilities starting in the second round and going all the way up to pick No. 50.
Troy Franklin, the wide receiver from Oregon, is one of those, and they should definitely stay away from him. Franklin only played in Eugene for three seasons, with 2023 marking his career season. He had double-digit touchdowns (14), and 1,383 yards was his first career 1,000-yard yardage total.
Franklin is a quick deep threat receiver who have the potential to be very lethal in wide space. However, considering that the Eagles already have a receiver akin to Smith in Smith, his average blocking and smaller stature (6-foot-3, 187 pounds), according to NFL Draft Buzz, may not be what they need. His nine drops from the previous season are also cause for concern.
Kamren Kinchens, S, Miami
The Eagles secondary currently has Darius Slay, who missed five games due to a knee injury, and James Bradberry, who significantly declined last season. There isn’t much productivity from Kelee Ringo, Eli Ricks, Isaiah Rodgers, and Tyler Hall outside of those four men.
The Eagles may choose to take a safety and a corner in the secondary options round of this year’s draft, likely going double-dipping. But one Miami resident who they should probably be cautious of is Kamren Kinchens.
