Jordan Rhodes states it was always on his agenda to rejoin Blackpool on a permanent deal following a successful loan spell at Bloomfield Road.

Despite spending most of the second season sidelined due to injury, the striker left a lasting impression on Blackpool fans, netting 15 goals in 29 League One appearances by the end of the campaign.

Rhodes is set to return to Blackpool this summer as a free agent after his contract with Huddersfield Town concludes. Reflecting on his time there, he admits that everything fell into place for him on the Fylde Coast.

“I’m not quite sure why things clicked the way they did – sometimes it’s just the way it goes,” he remarked. “I approached the experience with an open mind, ready to embrace whatever came my way. There was a certain energy around the club, and I was eager to contribute and give my best every day, especially under the guidance of the manager, Neil Critchley.”

As the season drew to a close, Rhodes began contemplating his future. “When you reach a certain age and have family responsibilities, you start thinking about each step carefully,” he shared. “A football career is finite, and it’s important to appreciate the opportunity to enjoy these latter years while still being able to play professionally.”
