Jones AT&T Stadium is still under construction, but last week the focus shifted from the south endzone to the north, where work on a new video board got underway. Head coach of the Texas Tech football team Joey McGuire posted a photo of the previous board’s panels being removed.

The stadium’s $242 million redevelopment project includes enlarging the video board to utilise the whole width of the existing structure, including the advertising boards on either side.

According to Texas Tech.com, “These features allow for multiple zones of content, showcasing instant replays, graphics, animations, statistics, and game information as well as sponsorship messages.”

It is anticipated that the video board element of the project will be finished by late spring. At this point, the project is expected to be completed by late summer, when Texas Tech plays their season-opening game against Abilene Christian on August 31.
