UPDATE: Saints Assistant Coach Leaving For Atlanta Falcons.

For the next season, the offensive coaching staff of the Saints is essentially starting over. D.J. Williams, an assistant quarterback coach for the Falcons, is another offensive assistant who has left the team. The revelation was confirmed to Saints revelation Network by a league source.

Son of Super Bowl Champion Doug Williams, D.J. Williams has been a member of the crew for a number of years. He coached the quarterbacks for the National Team at the Senior Bowl the previous year, partnering only with Jake Haener of Fresno State. Williams was reportedly offered a different position within the company, but he decided to take a new position with Raheem Morris’ team in Atlanta instead.

Meet the New Orleans Saints coaches: D.J. Williams

There are only six offensive coaches mentioned on the Saints website; with Williams’ departure, that number will drop to just five. As far as position goes, Clancy Barone is the only holdover. The only ones still in place are Jordan Traylor, Kevin Petry, Jahriu Evans, and head coach Mike Martinez’s offensive assistants. We’ll see if Klint Kubiak retains them or if New Orleans is about to undergo other changes.
