The Springboks will return to the field for the first time since last year’s Rugby World Cup final at Twickenham against Wales in June 2024.

The Springboks, reigning world champions, will make their return to the rugby field for the first time since the Rugby World Cup. Their comeback will take place at the renowned Twickenham Stadium in London, where they’ll face off against Wales in a highly anticipated Test match on Saturday, June 22, 2024.

Tickets for this event will be available for general sale starting Friday, February 23, at 10:00 (12:00 SA time) through Ticketmaster, Ticketek, and the RFU.

This match, part of the Qatar Airways Cup in London, serves as excellent preparation for the Incoming Series, which commences two weeks later with two Tests against the second-ranked team in the world, Ireland.

This upcoming clash will revisit memories of the Springboks’ victory over Wales in the 2015 Rugby World Cup quarter-final at Twickenham, where they emerged triumphant with a score of 23-19.

Notably, this will be the second consecutive year that the Springboks play a Test on neutral ground in London. Last year, they delivered a remarkable performance against the All Blacks, securing a 35-7 victory in front of an enthusiastic crowd of 80,827 at Twickenham, while also claiming the Qatar Airways Cup.

Following the London Test, the Springboks face a challenging two-match series against Ireland in Pretoria and Durban, followed by their first Test against Portugal in Bloemfontein to conclude the Incoming Series.

Coach Rassie Erasmus expressed his excitement about the Welsh match, considering it an ideal start to what promises to be an exhilarating 2024 season. He highlighted the strong support the team receives from the expatriate community in London and anticipated a similar atmosphere to the previous year’s encounter against the All Blacks.

Erasmus emphasized the significance of facing Wales, especially given their strong performance in the Six Nations, and recognized the importance of gearing up for the subsequent clashes against Ireland.

With meticulous preparation behind the scenes by the coaching team, Erasmus expressed confidence in the team’s readiness for the upcoming challenges, aiming to build towards the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia.

The updated Springbok fixtures include matches against Wales, Ireland, Portugal, Australia, New Zealand, and Argentina, spanning from June to September.

General admission tickets for the Springboks vs Wales match and Barbarians vs Fiji doubleheader on June 22 are available starting from £55 for adults and £28 for Under-16s.

For group bookings of 10 or more, a 10% discount is applicable, and hospitality packages starting from £179 per person are also available for purchase.
