“Very ambitious” manager wants to win the CL and work for “biggest clubs,” using Sunderland as a stepping stone.

It would be an understatement to say that Will Still’s interviews over the past several months have caused some agitation. It all began when he supposedly met with Sunderland in December to discuss their open position.

After a while, the Black Cats signed Michael Beale, a former Rangers manager, but Beale only lasted 12 games, forcing the Championship team to start over.

After reiterating his desire to move to England soon, Will Still may become available at the end of the season. Sunderland will reevaluate the situation at that point, possibly speaking with him on L’Equipe’s podcast L’Enfer du Banc.

Despite not specifically mentioning Sunderland, the 31-year-old made it known that he is aiming high, to the extent that even if he did decide to take over at the Stadium of Light, it would only be a temporary measure to accomplish his goals.
“I’m very ambitious and want to be as ambitious as I can be,” he declared. I want to compete in and win the Champions League. Even though I am aware of how unlikely that is, I refuse to put any boundaries on myself. I’ll attempt to win it as long as I can. First of all, it would be amazing to be in it.

“I want to go work in England since it’s where I’ve always known home to be. I aim to compete in as many tournaments as I can, work in the largest clubs, so it seems sense that I would want that. I believe that everyone would like to participate, but I wouldn’t find it difficult to accept if it doesn’t work out or the opportunity doesn’t arise.

He would have to spend some time working in the north of England before achieving his primary goal because Sunderland is currently unable to offer him Champions League or Premier League football.

If Kyril Louis-Dreyfus and company were to hire the young manager, they might be delighted to accommodate this. However, supporters of the team are cautioned not to get too attached if he is appointed in the summer.
