The back of Luc

In free agency, the Washington Commanders have made a lot of moves, but the absence of offensive tackle acquisitions alarmed many supporters. Andrew Wylie and… have filled a huge need on the Washington team’s squad. Since his signing in 2020, Lucas has been a part of Washington. Being able to cover on the left or right side when necessary, he has cemented himself as the team’s swing tackle. He has made 31 starts for Washington in his four seasons as a starter, and based on the Commanders’ additions through trades, free agency, or the draft, he may get additional opportunities.

Charles Leno, Jr., Washington’s starting left tackle for the previous three seasons, was cut. He recently underwent hip surgery, and it is anticipated that he will leave the NFL. Wylie could be shifted to guard depending on how the team is assembled following the draft, as he was not very good at right tackle. To safeguard whoever starts as quarterback this season, Cornelius Lucas will now be available for either position. According to reports, Lucas has a $4 million contract with incentives likely related to playing time.
