West Ham United: Tim Steidten and David Moyes’ off-field problems are the reason for their departure.

Graeme Bailey claims that David Moyes will need to win the Europa League in order to “even get near” receiving a contract extension at West Ham.

The HITC reporter stated to Hammers News on February 28 that the Irons manager’s proposed new contract was “never close” even before it was shelved following Arsenal’s 6-0 home victory on February 11. The club will make an announcement regarding its future if and when the European campaign concludes.
The London Stadium’s chairman, David Sullivan, is reportedly not a “happy chappy” behind the scenes due to a number of off-field problems at the team, including the hiring of technical director Tim Steidten, whom Moyes finds objectionable.

There won’t be a change in the dugout midseason, but Bailey is confident that at least one of Steidten and Moyes will be gone by the next season since the club wants to “push forward” and the manager is “old fashioned” and dissatisfied with the dynamic.

“There’s quite a split in the camp,” stated Bailey. We are speaking of a manager who was on the verge of firing himself the previous season; had he not won the European Cup, he would have left.

“It’s a bad omen, in my opinion, to win a European trophy and not receive a new contract at the same time. It wasn’t really close at any time this season, in my opinion.

“However, there are so many off-field circumstances working against Moyes that I’m not sure how they can succeed.”Without further ado, let’s face it: David Sullivan has hired Tim Steidten as a technical director to help him with the off-field problems, which exist. Nor has it actually made his life any simpler. And while it’s not Tim Steidten’s fault, it is evident that David Moyes is an outdated manager who does not want to collaborate with a sporting or technical director, particularly one who is not a member of his own squad.

“It doesn’t take a genius to see that the summer is when everything will peak. It’s safe to assume, in my opinion, that Steidten and Moyes won’t be playing for West Ham next season.

David Sullivan is not happy with David Moyes’s handling of West Ham’s Europa League campaign. Since Steidten’s summer arrival from Bayer Leverkusen, there have been frequent rumors that the two do not get along behind closed doors.

Knowing the Scot better than anyone, Sullivan should have realized that if the arrangement conflicts with the 60-year-old’s antiquated methods or his perception of the job, it might not work out well.

Thus, it appears that Steidten was prepared to usher in a new era at the London Stadium and was even supposed to be entrusted with the task of selecting a new manager prior to the current campaign, only for Sullivan to back down from bringing an end to the previous one after Moyes won the Europa Conference League trophy.
As a result, it appears that the old and the new are overlapping. Despite this, they have managed to get along well enough that the summer transfer window was really fairly successful, and even now, following a terrible run of play in the New Year, the Premier League table doesn’t seem too bad.

The team’s 4-2 victory over Brentford on Monday, February 26, served as a reminder of what this team is capable of despite the awkward circumstances that exist behind the scenes, but it doesn’t feel long-term viable, and Steidten appears to be planning an escape route in case Sullivan decides not to support him.

A BBC Sport analyst went on a tirade on the Moyes situation at the London Stadium in unrelated West Ham news.
