The Pittsburgh Steelers were extremely incorrect in their estimation of Kenny Pickett’s reaction to the change, even though they had every intention of having Wilson and Pickett as their quarterback duo in 2024.
An updated article from ESPN’s Brooke Pryor described the changes the Steelers made to their quarterback room in the offseason. The narrative covered Pickett’s response to Wilson’s signing and the ensuing trade. The theory goes that even with Wilson added, the squad was still thinking about Pickett.
The Steelers anticipated that having Wilson would “kick Kenny into gear” and inspire him to be more competitive. They believed Wilson’s presence would be a “benefit” to Pickett. In the end, however, Pickett felt that the addition of Wilson signified the Steelers returning to their former glory.
on a promise to start him with the first team in every quarterback competition.
The organization traded Pickett to Philadelphia because of reports that he did not adjust well to Wilson’s presence. Pickett himself did not disguise the fact that he was dissatisfied with the way things transpired behind closed doors.
In the end, Pickett thought he would have a reasonable chance to start and felt Wilson’s coming would undermine that. The Steelers had an alternative perspective. It was obvious that the two did not agree, and at that point, the transaction was unavoidable.

In a recent social media post, veteran tight end Jimmy Graham made a strong implication that his NFL career might be coming to an end.
Though he never explicitly stated as much, Graham sent a message on Instagram on Friday that unmistakably sounded like a retirement announcement. Although he left the door open for a comeback, Graham did not seem as though he expected to play again. Instead, he expressed gratitude to the Saints, the city of New Orleans, his coaches, and his teammates.

“I am grateful to New Orleans for having faith in me. I’m grateful for the amazing adventure, the love, and the memories. Graham
composed. It has been an honor of a lifetime to play for you, the people, and this city. I’m not sure what the future holds for me, but I’m grateful beyond words to be able to put on (No.) 80 once more and find the end zone in the one place I know.
The 37-year-old Graham played in New Orleans for the first five seasons of his career before leaving the team in 2022 and returning in 2023. Despite an off-field incident that raised concerns, he was mostly employed in the red zone, as seen by the fact that four of his six receptions for touchdowns came on just seven targets in 13 games.
Early in his career, Graham was a standout tight end, and Drew Brees preferred to target him in his
initial years as a Saint. If this is the end for him professionally, New Orleans will remember him with great affection.
