Why The Hoops Must Approve The Transfer: A Serie A Team Is Expecting To Rekindle Interest In This Celtic Center-Back

Celtic misfit Gustaf Lagerbielke, who had a miserable time in Glasgow, could take his profession to Italy.

Following a failed attempt in the January window, Serie A side Leece is expected to rekindle its interest in Celtic exile Gustaf Lagerbielke, if a report from Tutto Mercato (cited by Football Scotland) is considered to be accurate. However, they are not the only team in the race; Frosinone, the recently demoted Serie B team, is also keeping an eye on his circumstances at Parkhead.

The highly regarded Swedish center back lived in his own country for several years prior to concluding a €3.40 million transfer from IF Elfsborg. He and Maik Nawrocki were brought in last summer to strengthen the defensive third, but despite their limited playing experience in various competitions, neither player was able to make an impact.

Even though Lagerbielke was named Sweden’s defender of the year prior to moving to Glasgow, he was ranked lower than Stephen Welsh, Cameron Carter-Vickers, and Liam Scales. Despite the fact that he has only made 10 appearances for them and only four league starts since August (according to Transfermarket), the Hoops did not approve of his winter departure due to Carter-Vickers’ injury scare. Their central defense options were further weakened by the departure of Nat Phillips, whose season-long loan was terminated by Liverpool for insufficient playing time north of the border.

The Reasons Celtic Should Banned Lagerbielke’s Transfer
The 24-year-old Blue and Yellow international has enormous potential, but in order to advance, he needs to play more frequently. Celtic has to adjust its transfer attitude and wage expectations for the center-half since Brendan Rodgers does not see him in his first-team ambitions. Unless his suitors present a compelling offer, a loan switch should be considered.
