A football prospect from Wisconsin made public on Monday his decision to reconsider his college choices, just two months following his prior commitment. Isaiah West, hailing from Pennsylvania, utilized social media to convey this update. West currently ranks as the 503rd player nationally, the 45th running back, and the 16th player in Pennsylvania according to composite rankings.

Initially, he pledged his commitment to Mark Stoops and Kentucky in March, opting for the Wildcats over offers from various schools including Minnesota, Penn State, Michigan State, South Carolina, Pitt, North Carolina, West Virginia, UConn, and Boston College.

Wisconsin had been seen as a leading contender for the three-star running back, even earning a Crystal Ball prediction in October. He had an official visit scheduled with UW for June 1st before committing to Kentucky. Recently, West visited Ohio State unofficially, where he received an offer from running backs coach Carlos Locklyn and subsequently announced his decision to de-commit shortly after.

UW benefits from West’s connection to freshman cornerback Omillio Agard, his former teammate at St. Joseph’s Prep. However, Ohio State is now favored to recruit West, with two Crystal Ball predictions in their favor and an official visit scheduled for June 14th.

With West probably joining Ohio State, keep an eye on Byron Louis, John Forster, and Javin Gordon as potential running back recruits. Currently, Wisconsin has secured ten commitments for the 2025 recruiting cycle, placing them at No. 20 in the nation.
