Clippers Executive Makes a Strong Statement About Paul George

After trading for superstar guard James Harden from the Philadelphia 76ers, the Los Angeles Clippers possessed probably one of the most daunting squads on paper, led by four superstars. Although many questioned if this new bunch of superstars would work in Los Angeles, the Clippers overcame the odds by convincing head coach Tyronn Lue and his coaching staff to bring Russell Westbrook off the bench to make it work.

Ultimately, the Clippers were able to win the No. 4 seed in the Western Conference and appeared to be a serious force to be reckoned with as they entered the NBA playoffs to face Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks in round one. Unfortunately for Harden and company, the club fell flat in the first round, with the Mavericks appearing to be the better all-around team, particularly with Kawhi Leonard on the mend. With the Clippers entering the NBA offseason, there has been much speculation about the team’s ability to keep their roster together, but Lawrence Frank appears confident that they will be able to persuade Paul George to return, who will be available for free agency this summer, according to Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer.

All season, there have been speculations that George may take his skills somewhere this summer, with the Philadelphia 76ers having the salary flexibility to give him a significant offer to play with Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey. Even while remaining home to play for the Clippers in a new arena may be appealing, George is likely considering his greatest opportunity to win a championship, and Philadelphia could meet the criteria.
