Collingwood is firmly within the chase as the team looks to go back-to-back for the first time since 1936, following a sluggish start to their title defense.

Under coach Craig McRae, the Pies have been busy in the off-seasons lately in an effort to assemble the ideal group, and the 2024 campaign appears to be no exception.

As Nathan Murphy’s early retirement and father time gradually catch up to Jeremy Howe, Collingwood is in the running to strengthen their key defensive positions to support skipper Darcy Moore, creating openings down back.

Given that Mason Cox isn’t the long-term answer, McRae and his list management team might possibly consider hiring an experienced ruckman to assist Darcy Cameron at the position.

Considering that most of the game’s high-quality big men are locked away at their respective clubs, the Pies would either need to offer a godfather deal to pry them out or settle for a project player.
