In the summer, they hired Johannes Hoff Thorup as their new boss after the Canaries came up short in the play-offs under David Wagner. The Dane has quickly set about changing the philosophy and ethos at Carrow Road with the help of sporting director Ben Knapper.

There have been further changes, Some coming in the backroom teams at academy and first-team level. Now, a new face is set to join the youth ranks, and he joins from a familiar foe.

According to a report from TWTD, Norwich City are set to hire Olly Lee for their academy setup from East Anglia rivals Ipswich Town. The 33-year-old has been working as the Tractor Boys’ U18s boss after getting his start in the Tottenham Hotspur setup in 2023.

It comes around a year-and-a-half since Lee retired while with with League Two side Gillingham.

Embarking on a new chapter

While Norwich City revamp their day-to-day operations and build for a brighter future, a move for Lee sees them bring in a coach who is embarking on a new chapter of his own.

The London native came through the West Ham academy and played for a host of EFL clubs both on loan and permanently. He spent time with the likes of Luton Town, Gillingham, Birmingham City, Plymouth Argyle and more.

Norwich City take a long-term view with their future plans but in the short-term, they’ll be looking to maintain their upward trajectory under new boss Thorup.

Things are starting to take shape for the Dane at Carrow Road but this is just the start of their journey, it is hoped.
