Deion Sanders Sparks Speculation with Bold Remarks After Colorado’s Win
The Colorado Buffaloes ended their regular season on a high note, crushing the Oklahoma State Cowboys with an emphatic 52-0 victory. Head coach Deion Sanders praised his team’s resilience after a tough loss to Kansas the previous week, emphasizing their determination to bounce back. While Colorado’s path to the College Football Playoff remains uncertain, their dominating performance keeps their hopes alive.
“Look at how we rebounded,” Sanders told reporters. “Look at how we wiped our tears and got back up, got on the horse and yell, ‘Giddy-up.’” His remarks showcased the team’s grit and their refusal to let setbacks define their season.
However, it was another comment from Sanders that ignited a wave of speculation among college football fans. Speaking about his team’s commitment to the upcoming bowl game, Sanders highlighted the importance of finishing strong. “Our kids are going to play in the bowl game, because that’s what we signed up to do,” he said. “We’re not going to tap out because that throws off the structure of next season. There are teams that laid an egg in the bowl game and haven’t recovered since. We don’t plan on doing that.”
Fans quickly linked these comments to the Florida State Seminoles, a team that struggled after an embarrassing 63-3 loss to Georgia in the 2023 Capital One Orange Bowl. That defeat followed the Seminoles’ exclusion from the College Football Playoff, a decision that came after their star quarterback, Jordan Travis, suffered a season-ending injury. Players opting out of the bowl game further compounded the team’s woes.
Sanders, who once interviewed for the Florida State head coaching position before it was given to Mike Norvell, seemed to strike a chord with Seminoles supporters. “He’s talking about Baby Brother Florida State,” speculated one fan. Another chimed in, “That’s a nice way of saying I’m not coaching Florida State next season.”
While fans debate whether Sanders intended to reference Florida State, his focus remains on driving Colorado’s momentum forward. His message is clear: commitment, resilience, and determination will shape the future of his program.
