Richmond Premiership Duo Select 2025 Club Amid Mass Exodus

Published

on

Richmond’s Liam Baker and Jack Graham are reportedly set to join the West Coast Eagles in 2025, marking the start of a significant player exodus from Punt Road. According to multiple reports, the duo has chosen West Coast as their preferred destination. This decision comes shortly after Andrew McQualter, their former interim coach, was announced as Adam Simpson’s successor at West Coast. The long-standing connection between the players and McQualter is seen as a major factor in their desire to don the royal blue and yellow.

The Tigers are expected to negotiate a deal for Baker, who is out of contract, while Graham will depart as an unrestricted free agent. Graham has spent eight seasons at Richmond, where both he and Baker were instrumental in the team’s premiership victories, including their last title in 2020. Channel 7’s Ryan Daniels had first hinted at Graham’s move back in August, with Baker’s decision coming after more uncertainty throughout the 2024 season.

Reports from AFL Media’s Riley Beveridge and Daniels suggest that Graham will sign a four-year deal with West Coast. Both players bring significant experience and a winning mentality, having been key contributors to Richmond’s recent success. Their departure signals a shift for Richmond, which is now facing an evolving roster after years of dominance in the AFL.

As of now, Richmond has not made an official statement on the duo’s expected departure. It’s anticipated that formal announcements will follow once Baker and Graham confirm their plans with the club. Their decision to move on comes as the Tigers prepare for a new chapter, signaling potential changes in their roster for the upcoming seasons.
